POSITIONS AVAILABLE: The Smart Fluidic Systems Lab will be starting up in the spring of 2017. We’ll be studying (1) bio-inspired vehicles that swim and fly, and (2) energy harvesters that power smart body sensors. We’re seeking motivated students to be founding members of the lab. It’s an exciting time to join, because we’ll be growing fast. As one of several new groups in UVA’s Link Lab, we’ll have access to new world-class equipment for studying cyber-physical systems like autonomous vehicles and energy harvesters. Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering, but all applicants are welcome. Email danquinn@virginia.edu for more information.

The video above shows clips from research to which I’ve contributed over the past few years (Gasdynamics Lab at Princeton; Bio-inspired Engineering Research Laboratory at UVA; Lauder Lab at Harvard; Bio-Inspired Research and Design Lab at Stanford). The clips give you a glimpse of the kinds of projects we’ll be working on in our lab. Stay tuned for more as our lab comes online in the spring.
